This Japanese eatery needs no introduction and our go-to spot for an affordable yet satisfying meal in town. 💯 The grilled fish sets are simply unbeatable — served with a bowl of rice, salad, miso soup, pickles, seasoned seaweed, and hot green tea. 🙌
The star of the show? That grilled fish! Each bite is packed with succulent, meaty flakes and that rich, buttery flavour perfectly balanced with a sweet-salty miso glaze. 😋

braved the queue and i can see why it's so popular!! Mero Saikyoyaki ($24.90) was oily, silky soft and buttery
We went before 11.30, and we queue for 45 mins. It’s very crowded, and the direction of the queue a bit misleading. So customer should pay first, get buzzer and when the buzzer is ring, mean we can get the seat n the food will served to us.
We ordered halibut and unagi set. Both of us prefer Halibut more.
The fish fresh, grill till skin was light crispy, the flesh moist and tender.
The set meal comes with salad, soup and appetiser and green tea.
💰$17.5 for halibut set.

🥳 This special edition of sushi "Celebrate 30 years of Nakajima Suisan in Singapore". We can't help but love the spicy sambal belachan on top of torched salmon 🍣. We normally try to avoid torched food but give it a go for this one. There is another version of sushi for this occasion & we might share it until this runs out. 😉
Amazing grilled fish - crisp skin, flesh is super succulent and juicy, has a v nice bite to it. I love it so much!! It’s served with soft, pearly rice, pickles, salad (thinly sliced cabbage in sesame sauce), and miso soup. They also serve tea which was v nice and roasty. I was super full after that but very satisfied~
Mero Saikyo Set ($23.90 ++)
Known as Cod fish (鳕鱼) my friend introduced me to try their grilled fish and so I decided to try it out on weekdays lunch time. But I realised that the resturant got still have two separate queues on lunch time for ordering food and also waiting for the seats. They got selling set meal or ala carte for fish and seafood. The cashier saw me to think which fish to order for set meal and he recommended me for mero (toothfish) as bestseller. I know that it was really expensive fish on the menu even though I never thought what I really wanted to order tbh because it got a lot of varieties of fish and seafood to come from. So it's best to start it off something best seller from the menu. The mero (toothfish) really got marinated, grilled and similar taste as cod fish, really soft and creamy but a bit of fish bones hidden. Every set meal got green tea served first before the main (fish or seafood) and side dish (such as sesame salad - creamy and waterish taste included corn, violet and green cabbage, garlic - i personally don't like, pickles - sour and waterish, miso soup - kelp & tofu but taste like instant?) come in together.
