U expect a really good cheesecake from Olivia and it delivers . The strawberry matcha was a great , not too sweet .

[ORCHARD, SINGAPORE] I think I've been to @picolino.sg at least 6 times, and this time their food just got even more worth it with their all day set menu from just $17.90!

Their set menu comes with a starter, either a 9 inch pizza ($17.90), pasta ($19.90) or main ($27.90), a dessert and a drink. As for starters, you need to get their Caesar Salad 🥗 omg. I'm not a salad person, but I found myself wolfing down the bowl in no time. Very fresh and balanced, it was slightly cheesy too and I liked the crispy parma ham.

We saw 2 Italians beside ordering a pizza each so we had to too 🤭 their new Salmon Mentaiko pizza definitely delivered, with a generous rich amount of mentaiko, salmon and ikura. The pizza crust is addictive as well, as it was crispy on the edges and chewy within.

As for mains, the Grilled NZ grass-fed Striploin 🥩 was surprisingly tender, with an interesting herb sauce to pair with it. Although the doneness was just slightly below how I would prefer it, it was a very decent steak for the price.

As for desserts you MUST get their tiramisu. I really think this is the top 3 I've had. It was very moist, aromatic, chocolatey and perfect with the alcoholic cream provided. Very balanced and not too sweet.

With the all day set I really think you are getting your money's worth. Definitely coming back to have this set again! 😄 Note that this set is only available between Mon-Thurs.

We have been going to the original PK on Coronation Rd since it was founded over 20 years ago, and we were delighted when this branch opened in 2021.

Not as delish as mom’s outlet, but still good enough. Even at enhanced Orchard Rd pricing, still reasonable.

Ordered their toast, orh nee teh and non spicy carbonara chee cheong fun. The chee cheong fun was smooth and nice. I didn realise carbonara sauce could go well with it. The carbonara was slightly salty but wasnt jelat. The toast was very crispy but i still prefer kaya over yam. The drink was ok.

Trying Filipino food as a Singaporean Chinese, I found it both familiar and surprisingly different at the same time. There is a lot of comfort in the flavours, especially when it comes to rice, slow-cooked meats, and hearty home-style cooking, but the taste profile also stands out with its stronger use of vinegar, garlic, citrus, and sweetness. It feels less about sharp spice and more about deep, rich, savoury flavours with a slightly tangy edge.

What I enjoyed most is that Filipino food feels very soulful and unpretentious. The dishes are usually bold, filling, and made to be eaten properly with rice, which is something very relatable for us. At the same time, some dishes lean sweeter than what I am personally used to in Chinese cuisine, so it took a bit of adjustment for my palate. But once I got used to that balance of salty, sour, and sweet, I could appreciate how comforting and addictive it is.

Overall, Filipino food left a very warm impression on me. It feels like food made for family gatherings, sharing, and satisfaction rather than just presentation. As a Singaporean Chinese, I would say it is approachable, hearty, and worth exploring, especially if you enjoy robust flavours and rice-based meals with a homely touch.

Their signature. Most unique is they deep-fry the meat before drenching in sauce. Decent.

Popular joint. This dish is normally mainly chye poh and greens, but the one here has a bit more ingredients. A bit bland.

(Clockwise from bottom) Caramel mixed nuts beer cake, mixed berries light cheese, strawberry lemon pistachio. Not much to say. Expensive spot.

Their signature frosting cake, but bite size. The lemon was sharp, but overall also very interesting experience in the mouth. Expensive spot.
