This is by far the most gianomous pencai @grandcopthornewaterfront I have seen. A bite of each component was an explosion of the sweet, salty and umaminess of the seasonings and spices that were infused during the cuisson. Just like a mardi gras in your mouth.

Now what is so special about this dish? The symbolization of some of the components. Fattchoi (dried moss)- striking it rich; prawns - laughter and happiness; green ingredients (eg broccoli or wa wa chye aka cabbage) - perpetual youthfulness; white radish - increasing growth & prosperity and abalone - increasing abundance, just to name a few. An auspicious dish to savor.

Steamed beancurd with pickled vegetables that looked ordinary was packed with umaminess and a hint of spicy heat. Spinach with eggs and century eggs swaddled in a tinge of salty chicken broth. Double boiled cordyceps chicken soup, good to the last drop. Roasted duck resting in a pool of soya sauce was flavorful. Each bite bursting with the various herbs and spices which was infused during the cuisson. No doubt, it was lying in sauce, the skin remained crisp similarly to peking duck.

My palate longed for light and scintillating. This fruit juice meesiam did the trick. Not so spicy but it did tantalized my tastebuds with its tangyness.

Abit of a surprise when Meesiam uncle said to me, "long time no see. You have not been here for awhile." Really surprised and impressed he remembered me. It does feel kinda nice. It is hawkers like friendly Meesiam uncle that make you go back and eat his food again.

The taste and flavors plus a tinge of that woodfired finish were pleasing to the palate. Mushrooms gave that soft touch of "woodyness". The eggs were atad over. Without that gentle runny golden flow, the dish became abit dry. My tastebuds were screaming for moisture in which I found solace in my cup of aromatic coffee.

I ordered the shrimp pork rib ramen. The broth had a tinge of wokhei. Flavorful with umaminess. Much love for the orangey color of the broth. Prawns not as big as I expected. Sadly, it was alittle mushy. I enjoyed the broth and noodles more than the other components.

Spoilt for choice, one can choose individually from standard bak kut teh, pig trotters, intestines etc. But there is a mixed one with the ribs, intestines, pig trotters all in one claypot. Besides claypots, side dishes such as braised peanuts, salted veges, tauhu etc are also available.

As long as I can remember, this stall has been around for at least a decade. It has withstood the weather of time, from an old rundown kopitiam to a more modern renovated one. Many stalls came and went but this stall is always here managed by the same friendly owner uncle.

Char kway teow is just kway teow "char" (fried) in a wok over fire. This one has an old school taste. Tossed with fishcake, eggs, cockles and veges (a rarity these days). Just a teeny tiny hint of wokhei. 鈼解椌
It is not fantastic. Infact, it is just a plate of char kway teow. But it certainly has its own fair share of regulars, probably to them, it is not just another plate of char kway teow.

It looked very plain. We were like, "oops", did we make the right choice. Noodles were made inhouse. Every strand is the same length so during the cuisson (cooking time), the noodles are cooked consistently. It has a springy texture, somewhat abit aldente and tasted like ban mian. I prefer this texture as it had a nice firm bite. Garnished with clams and porchetta. Little gravy with a slight saltyness and a hint of umaminess.

My only comment was that the clams, no doubt the shell was big, the flesh was very small. Other than that, we enjoyed it. A plate is good for sharing among 3 people. Because as plain as it looks, the taste is quite rich.
