Revisited after two years, and while still enjoyable, it didn’t quite hit the same highs. The Lala Noodles remain comforting, with a fragrant broth of ginger and yellow rice wine, but the depth of seafood umami was noticeably lighter. The lala clams were fresh but not as plump, making the overall experience feel less indulgent than before.
Ordered some dim sum as sides, but they were pretty standard and nothing wow-worthy. The braised chicken feet, siew mai, and steamed pork ribs were decent enough, but lacked the standout factor to make them a must-order.

Soft, chewy muah chee dusted with crushed peanuts, delivering that perfect mix of nuttiness and nostalgia. The stretchy glutinous rice has a satisfying pillowy bite, bringing back familiar childhood snack-time comfort.
Beyond the classic peanut version, they also offer black sesame, mango, lychee, pandan, and even Ribena, adding a fun, fruity twist to this traditional treat 》RM6
Formerly known as Kim Soya Bean, the stall has since rebranded as Uncle Bean but it remains in the same spot, still serving its well-loved soya milk and tau fu fah.
Uncle Bean soya milk is all about freshness and simplicity. Made daily, it has a silky-smooth texture and natural soy aroma, balancing light creaminess with clean refreshment.
I tried both the white sugar and brown sugar versions. While the white sugar had that familiar, comforting sweetness, the brown sugar stole the show. It added a deeper, caramel-like richness, making every sip extra satisfying. Served cold, it was the ultimate way to beat the heat while strolling through Petaling Street 》RM3.60 / Bottle
Heard all the hype and finally got my hands on Village Park Nasi Lemak and it didn’t disappoint.
The chicken was super crispy on the outside, with those addictive crunchy bits that everyone fights over. Inside, the meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavour.
The sambal was spicy, slightly sweet and just shiok. It paired perfectly with the lemak rice which was fragrant, fluffy and not too heavy.
Added a side of kang kong for some greens. Stir-fried just right with a good crunch and a garlicky kick that tied everything together nicely.
Went for takeaway since the dine-in queue was crazy long… maybe I’ll brave the line next time!

A hot and peppery broth that delivers instant warmth from the inside out. The tender pig stomach soaks up all that bold, pepper-infused goodness, making each spoonful both comforting and addictive. Definitely should’ve gone for a bigger portion. This one’s worth the extra ladle 》RM12 / Small
Charcoal-cooked to perfection, this claypot rice has crispy edges, juicy marinated chicken, and a rich smoky aroma that makes it seriously satisfying. The Chinese sausage adds a sweet-savory depth, while the salted fish brings that extra umami boost. A comforting, flavour-packed meal but expect a queue during peak hours 》RM28 / Big
The curry isn’t as creamy as the SG style, but it’s still packed with flavour. Comes loaded with char siew, tau pok, long beans, bean sprouts, and soft pig skin that soaks up all that curry goodness 》RM11
📍 Madam Eng Curry Mee
The highlight is the yellow wine chicken bun, featuring tender, juicy chicken infused with the deep, earthy aroma of 黄酒, perfectly encased in a fluffy bun. The siew mai is a reliable classic—simple, satisfying and gets the job done. But the fried taro dumpling is the true showstopper. Crispy on the outside, soft and fragrant inside, with a rich char siew filling bursting with flavour. A standout dish that brings the whole meal together beautifully!

📍 Ah Fook Chee Cheong Fun
The Claypot Hainan Cha is a shiok blend of coffee and tea, with both condensed and evaporated milk. Served over ice, it’s smooth, creamy, and super refreshing like a next-level iced yuan yang with extra depth.
The Iced Milk Tea is just as solid, well-balanced and not too sweet. Full-bodied even when chilled, perfect for beating the heat.
