Delicious hearty bowl of curry to warm me up for the day from the cold weather this morning.

The curry was cooked and served in a claypot and the portion was generous. The chicken meat was so big, about the size of my palm, and quite meaty. The meat easily broke off from the bone when I used chopsticks to plunge into it. Some parts were tender, while others were a little dry on the inside, but the curry sauce helped ease it.

Potato was cut in half, with a thick and slightly firm texture, yet still soft enough to eat. The curry had more of a gravy-like starchy texture, robust and savoury, tasting more like Malaysian Chinese style. Comes with a bowl of white rice which tasted meh.

Warm rice with curry sauce drizzled over it, sided with soft mild spicy brinjal, stir-fried spinach with garlic, and fatty pork chop. Well... I find it kind of salty overall, and the price is a little expensive. But I’m just here to fill my stomach ’cause lazy to walk anywhere else. 😅

Ottie Pancakes is seemingly quite on an aggressive of expansion these days — they have been opening various outlets all across the island in the past couple of months; while they have been pretty much concentrated to the Southwestern parts of Singapore with their outlets situated within one-north, M Tower and Harbourfront Centre recently, these folks have also started opening outlets in Suntec City and there is also another one upcoming at the basement of 313@somerset. It does seem that these folks are also in the midst of expanding their operations into the heartlands as well — this would be from their kiosk that can be found at the basement of Plantation Plaza in Tengah.

Have always been having their Min Jiang Kueh offerings during our visit to their other outlets such as the one at Suntec City and at the Harbourfront Centre location — thought it would be good to give their Ottie Pancake offerings a go; these would be pretty similar to that of Munchi Pancakes’ Munchi Pancake offerings — a round, filled pancake that comes with various flavours to choose from. Unlike Munchi Pancakes which only fulfil Munchi Pancake orders when they are placed, there are readily available stock of some of Ottie Pancakes’ Ottie Pancake flavours that are displayed prominently in the display case. Patrons can also opt for their Munchi Pancakes / Min Jiang Kueh items to be warmed up — something which we skipped out on. Comparing the Ottie Pancake and the Ottie Pancake’s Min Jiang Kueh offerings, the Ottie Pancake features a lighter batter where it feels thinner, softer and fluffier than their Min Jiang Kueh which tends to come with a bite and some tension to pull apart. Opting for both the Black Sesame and the Kaya variants of the Ottie Pancake, the Black Sesame rendition features the very same black sesame filling as their Black Sesame Min Jiang Kueh; the filling being loosely-packed and being a little bit on the grittier side of things — very roasty and very fragrant. Meanwhile, the Kaya is smoother than what one would expect as compared to that of commercially-made Kaya; it is also a little bit sweeter though it does seem that have balanced that sweetness with the amount of Kaya which is being filled into the pancake.

As the carrot cake is cooked in batches, the queue moves fast.

How already 3rd generation chef liao, previously had this in the 90s by the original uncle, now the grandson take over liao.

But the carrot cake now standard become better and better.

A must have here at clementi 448 hawker.

Recently I visited this coffeeshop and was surprised by the long queue at this stall. There’s at least 20 people queuing. Although it was a Tuesday night, selected items such as prawns and lalas were already sold out.

The fish was fresh and chunky. The sauce were light and flavourful without overpowering the fish. The steamed egg was silky smooth.

Oh no…… I’ve officially entered food coma mode 😵‍💫 after hopping through 3 eateries in a row (yes, I went all out 😅) today. Because this — ultra-thin, super crispy toast with generous slabs of butter and kaya spread is absolute perfection. 🧈🍞 My heart is full and my tummy’s even fuller. ☺️ Sometimes, the best kind of day is the one that ends in a delicious daze. 😴✨

Mum woke me up before dawn (yes, really! 😅) just to beat the queue and satisfy our wanton noodle cravings.

By the time we got there, their legendary char siew and siew yoke [a.k.a. roasted meat] were already wiped out.😭 But we still struck gold with their signature roast duck leg noodles, wanton and shrimp dumplings, before they closed for the day!

We’re obsessed with their springy egg noodles, plumpy wantons & prawn dumplings and that glorious duck leg — tender meat, a thick layer of flavourful fat and slightly crispy skin!

⏰ Pro tip: They’re SOLD OUT before 12 noon 😱, so go early or go home!

Love this neighborhood ice cream place! Their popular flavours include crowd favourite Chocolate Rocky Road and Sea Salt Crumble. I decided to visit because it's always buzzing weekends after dinner time. While they had their specials - Ice cream Waffle and Sweet Tea set for $11.50, my bf and I decided to get 2 waffles and 2 scoops of ice cream for $15.10. Waffle was a nice balance of crispy and cakey. Great place to hang with friends and enjoy some desserts! Halal certified too!
