Came for the crab bee hoon, but with crabs sold out, the next best thing to go was their crayfish bee hoon soup. This is a signature dish you’ll spot on nearly every table, whether with crab (if you reserved early) or crayfish as the next best option.

The broth is rich and aromatic, infused with the natural sweetness of fresh crayfish and sole fish, giving it a creamy depth while staying light enough to complement the silky bee hoon. Every slurp is smooth and satisfying, making it easy to see why it’s a crowd favourite.

The crayfish itself are of decent size. Fresh, plump, and naturally sweet, adding a satisfying bite to the dish. It was so good that we couldn’t resist ordering an extra portion of bee hoon because when the broth hits just right, you’ll want more of it! If you’re set on crab bee hoon, reserving ahead is a must 》$52 (w 4pcs Crayfish) + $2 Extra Noodle

Crunchy and fragrant, but slightly off in execution. The prawns are fresh but overcooked, making them a bit dry and firm. The cereal leans milky rather than buttery, adding sweetness but missing that rich, savoury contrast. Decent texture, but a better balance of flavours and doneness would have made it more satisfying 》$25

Fresh, crisp, and full of flavour, this dish brings out the best in simple ingredients. The green dragon vegetable (garlic chives) add a slight bite, while the bean sprouts keep things light and crunchy. Perfectly cooked and seasoned just right 》$16 / Large

Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside — these wings are an easy crowd-pleaser. The prawn paste flavour is subtle, letting the rich, golden crust take the spotlight. Light and crunchy, they’re best enjoyed hot — just dip them in chilli for an extra punch. A great pick for those who enjoy a gentler seasoning, but maybe not for bold flavour seekers 》$12 / Medium (10 Pcs)

Another TikTok scam. The noodles were one-dimensional and the bowl of pork soup was consistently mediocre. As a journalist, I always say: food reviews on TikTok are often exaggerated and overly positive because the creators are trying to gain clout. Pinch of salt.

Deserves a return. Dabao definitely less impressive because it's not straight from wok. The lard and chilli still great.

Haven't been to Mellben in a really long time and I miss having Mellben’s crab done in its signature way. The milky broth is thick, rich, creamy and beamed with sweetness from the crab. The crab was fresh and succulently sweet with chunks of meat coming off cleanly.

Wrapped in crispy beancurd skin with generous fillings of prawns, pork and together with a crunch of chestnuts 》$10 (Small)

This long-standing stall has unusually had its internet presence wiped clean recently, and despite online rumors that they closed, this stall is very much still opening regularly.
.
Their lamb ribs is thick and chunky, having tender chewy texture with full flavoured smoky meaty salty savoury peppery spice flavour.
.
The heavily dressed coleslaw is crunchy with vegetal sweet flavour, while the crisp potato chips hold starchy salty flavour.
.
The crisp buttered toasted white bread has straightforward buttery bready toasty sweet savoury notes, and the soft warm baked beans in tomato sauce carry vegetal earthy sour sweet flavour.

Had to queue 20min even though I reached at 11.36am to get my takeaway of lor bee hoon. It’s a simple and fulfilling meal, with simple and healthy liao unlike other lor mee that is filled with deep fried ingredients. Be prepared to wait if you reach during peak lunch time. Takeaway in container boxes available at extra $0.30

We saw this in The White Lotus so ordered haha. They're risotto rice balls stuffed with buffala, mozzarella and carrot purée. Unfortunately kinda normal.

I love pesto and this did not disappoint. Together with pine nuts, cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, it's simple and lovely.
