Hopscotch is such a chill place to hangout at with anyone from co-workers to best friends to partners! I visited after work with my partner and we had such a great time - the staff were really sweet and knowledgeable, and both the food and drinks menu were one of a kind!
I ordered the Barramundi Fish & Chips while my partner ordered the Black Garlic Ribeye Steak. The fish was very crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, while the chips were fried to perfection and wasnât too salty! The steak was probably the best iâve ever had in my life! It was so soft and easy to eat. The bone marrow butter paired the steak so well.
We were mindblown at the drinks selection. The creativity behind all the drinks has to be the star of the show! Both my partner and I got edible cocktails! I enjoyed Bubble Bean, which was Hopscotchâs take on Singaporeâs local dessert âMichael Jacksonâ, and the presentation and taste was next level. My partner had a Heartland Signature and it came with a waffle on top! đą
Definitely a new spot in town where I can have dinner or drinks with friends and family! Will definitely be back for more!
I had an incredible dining experience that started strong with the Garden City Sling. This cocktail was not only beautifully presentedâwith a dramatic touch of dry ice and orchid waterâbut it also tasted as lovely as it looked. The drink had a sweet, subtle flavour profile with floral notes, and the alcohol was perfectly balanced, enhancing rather than overpowering the experience. Easily a 10/10.
For my main, I ordered the duck confit with foie gras, and it did not disappoint. The foie gras was expertly cookedârich and creamy without being overly gameyâwhile the duck confit was tender, flavourful, and fell effortlessly off the bone. What truly tied the dish together was the mandarin orange salsa. Its tangy, slightly acidic profile cut through the richness beautifully, adding a fresh brightness to an already delicious plate.
A beautifully balanced meal, both in taste and presentation. Iâd definitely return.
Had the pangium beef bourguignon that was rich in flavour and of good portion. The garlic mashed potatoes that came with it complemented the dish well too. Also had the mid autumn delight mocktail which had the perfect amount of sweetness that does not overpower the main dish when consumed alongside
Found this place at a short walk away from City Hall Mrt near Capitol Theatre and was absolutely impressed by the ribeye. It was so juicy and the side dishes, black garlic mash potato and grilled brussel sprouts complimented the steak perfectly. Their signature cocktail "Heartland Signature" was savory, and the rum mixed with Gula Melaka and pandan was definitely an interesting flavor! Thoroughly impressed an would definitely be back to try their other signature cocktails.
Pork meatballs arenât the norm and thatâs exactly why I love these. A welcome change from the usual beef options, theyâre perfect for non-beef eaters or anyone looking to switch things up. Handmade and packed with flavour, theyâre juicy, slightly garlicky and have little bits of carrot for added texture.
The marinaraâs got that tangy, homemade vibe with chunks of onion and tomato. Great for sharing, especially if you want something a little different from their usual grilled fare ă$7.20
Despite its name, this catfish felt more seared than traditionally grilled. The catfish had a nice crisp on the outside while staying tender and flaky inside. The dill sauce brought a tangy, creamy flavour that paired well but there just wasnât enough of it. By the second half, things started to dry out a bit. More sauce wouldâve made a big difference.
The mushroom rice was as fragrant as ever and the herb potatoes had that perfect crispy-soft combo. Overall, a good meal but next time, Iâm definitely doubling up on the sauce ă$7.90
Wild Olives is one of those hawker gems that delivers restaurant quality flavours at wallet-friendly prices. The grilled chicken is tender, with a beautifully charred exterior that locks in its juiciness. The teriyaki glaze adds a sweet yet balanced richness, making every bite deeply satisfying.
Every main comes with two sides and my go-to picks are always the mushroom rice with caramelised onions and grilled herb potatoes. The rice is full of flavour and so fragrant, while the potatoes are crispy on the outside and buttery soft inside. If those arenât your thing, there are plenty of other options like mashed potatoes, fries, coleslaw, veggies or garden salad.
To round out the meal, a comforting bowl of soup is available for just $1. Just a heads-up: the dinner queue is no joke. Expect to wait at least an hour. For a meal this satisfying, itâs a commitment worth making ă$7.20
Pleasantly surprised with the solid sourdough sandwiches and donuts at Caffe Pralet!
Spam Bam ($12) - Packing a surprising lingering heat, the luscious paprika egg mayo salad multigrain sourdough sandwich seemed unassuming at first but was punchy with the addition of jalapenos, scallions, spam, and baby spinach.
Pleasantly surprised with the solid sourdough sandwiches and donuts at Caffe Pralet!
Beef'in Cheese'in ($14) - Like a yakiniku beef sando, the multigrain sourdough was stuffed nicely with braised tender beef chuck, cheddar, mozzarella, caramelized onions, gherkins (pickled cucumber), and baby spinach. So savoury!
Pleasantly surprised with the solid sourdough sandwiches and donuts at Caffe Pralet!
Cheeky Avocado ($13) - Succulent grilled chicken breast, loaded with nutty cashew chipotle pesto, creamy sliced avocado, fresh tomatoes, onions, gherkins (pickled cucumber), a generous amount of baby spinach, between soft garlic chye poh sourdough. A very balanced meal. Love the slight herbaceous flavour!
For the perfect donut party get the Demi Dozen (starting at $20/ 6pcs)!
Cinnamon Sugar ($3.20) - This classic cinnamon sugar snack was one of my favourites among the selection. More gentle and balanced spice notes.
Burnt Butter Honey Glaze ($3.60) - An indulgent number with rich burnt caramel flavour. Would be even better with more sea salt on the ânot-too-thick or cloying, sticky-sweetâ glaze.
Lemon Cremeux ($3.60) - Tangy, smooth lemon curd-filled fluffy donut was a win but the amount of creamy filling was a no-go as certain bites had no filling at all.
Pistachio Raspberry Crunch ($4.80) - Studded with nutty pistachio crunch and drizzled with tart raspberry jam, the donut got quite the mixed reception as some enjoyed the bright flavour of the jam while others found it overpowering.
Chocolate Fudge ($4) - A foolproof, crowd-pleasing combo with rich dark 56% chocolate fudge, 70% dark chocolate shavings and toasted cacao nibs.
very cosy place, perfect for a weekend chill date. the cocktails are super creative with the right concentration and taste. ordered the grilled pull pork potato, very savoury. definitely will be back
