Most places serve dory for their fish and chips but over at Big Fish Small Fish, they actually offer a selection of fish to choose from. On the menu, they have dory, sea bass, hoki, salmon and haddock served with a choice of bases ranging from crisps, fries, hand-mashed potato, coconut rice and pasta. It also includes one choice of sauce from garlic butter, tartar, cheese, spicy, lime mayo and truffle mayo.
I went for their lunch set that is available on weekdays from 11am - 5pm. I got myself the haddock with fresh potato crisps and cheese dip. The set also comes with a drink and additional options for soup add-on at just $1. The portion of fish was quite big. Mine came with two fillets with thick and crunchy golden brown batter. The potato crisps are thin, maintain their crisps and go well with the cheese dip 》$19.80 Haddock
Came by with a group of friends and got to use 3 deals on Burpple which made this meal so worth! The food itself is pretty good - we got the Caesar Salad ($12) and Sweet Potato Fries ($12) to start and both of them were so delicious and highly addictive, really recommend! For pasta, we chose the Bacon Gnocchi ($24) and Seafood Aglio Olio ($24). Personally, I did not prefer the doughiness of the gnocchi but to each their own right? Aglio olio was decent, not outstanding, but I did appreciate the freshness and plumpness of the shrimp and squid. As for the pizza, we had the Hawaiian ($23) and Four Cheese ($23). Both were alright, couldn't quite remember how they tasted after but I'm not really a fan of pizza so don't take my word for it. Overall, with Burpple, this made for a value-for-money meal!
[JOO CHIAT, SINGAPORE] I think many people probably had @tomocafesg cloud coffee or eispanner, but I'm happy to share that their Tonkatsu Sando ($20) is a joy to have as well!
I was very pleasantly surprised by how crispy the crust was, and how tender the meat was as well 😍 the tonkatsu cutlet came pretty thick and massive, and it gave a good snap biting through it. It was not dry at all too! The tonkatsu itself was already better than many of the local speciality tonkatsu shops I've went 🤯 2 pieces of soft buttery broiche bread sandwiched the tonkatsu, and I really loved the tangy sauce used! Fries were great, though nothing much to shout too much about.
What's even better is that you can use Grab DineOut discounts here! Had a 15% discount which made my brunch more worthwhile 😋
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Rich, creamy, chocolatey, and most importantly, divine.
rly gotta give it to them for their pizzas - rly fluffy & soft crust that doesn't feel like a chore to chew or cut, and will have u unable to stop eating the calories. had the surf's pizza which had smoked salmon & dill & wowww the combi was js chef's kiss !!!! unfortunately the vodka sausage pasta was abit of a miss for me :-( not sure why but the texture was mildly crunch?y? but the flavour was ok! meat was pretty generous too~
[ORCHARD, SINGAPORE] These photos really don't do justice to how much we loved both dishes we ordered! I have had @picolino.sg a few times and these 2 dishes really don't go wrong.
Cacio E Pepe ($19) is a simple pasta dish that is hard to do very well, but Picolino nailed it with their rendition. The Malfade pasta was the right choice, catching cheese and pepper well at every grove. It was al dente and we loved the chewy texture! The cheese pepper sauce itself was GLORIOUS. It was flavourful but not too intense, and the cheese was the right amount as it wasn't too cloying. The fried egg was a nice touch, with gooey yolk to add extra richness.
I also finally tried the Picolino's Burrata Pizza ($28) and I was ADDICTED. The pesto sauce was really garlicky and the tomato sauce further accentuated the fresh flavour from this pizza. The crust at the bottom was surprisingly crispy, although it seemed soaked with all the sauces. The cherry on top is the burrata cheese, which added extra richness!
After dining at picolino a couple of times, I feel like their dishes can be a big hit or a miss sometimes, but these 2 dishes will definitely make your belly happy. Can't wait to be back to eat these 2 again 🤣
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
One of the best bread pudding I’ve had ever!
Lovely cheesecake paired with strawberries and a zesty drizzle.
This is the surprise birthday cake - supposed to be one only but because our group was 6, they served 2 cakes- good quality ones!
I never imagine such tender meat and crispy the skin can be! It comes with salad n mash. Lovely!
