Came here with a friend, tried the signature Chicken rice claypot, Crab Meat Carrot cake and the Double Bacon Smash Burger. The food was good and the service staff was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this place for future patrons.
We went in the evening for dinner, the place has a pleasant vibe, cosy and not cluttered.
Tables are spaced apart so you can have your own private conversation and feel comfortable.
We found the concept interesting - hainanese western, and ordered the following:
- claypot chicken rice
- double bacon smash burger
- crabmeat carrot cake
Overall was not bad :)
Had the best brunch at this aesthetically pleasing cafe in Tanjong Katong. Love the mix of local and western dishes on offer. The hor fun was jam packed with flavours and the burger was hearty and served with crispy fries. The crab meat carrot cake was so yummy pared with nummy and spicy chilli. Special shoutout to the coffee which surprised me with notes of berries. Will definitely return!
duck confit
duck was really tender and fall off the bone but might have been slightly too salty for my liking. however, pairing it with the gnocchi was the perfect balance of taste - 7/10
cranberry sweetie
am a sucker for coffee so decided to try out fruits with espresso. definitely did not disappoint though. i thoroughly enjoy the scent of espresso and the fruity aroma to it as well. something very different unique - 10/10
donut kiap
- coconut and mango in between a brioche bread. probably nothing much to it and is exactly what you would imagine. the brioche bread was good though but maybe not a good pairing with burger as they were the same type of bread. icecream was really tasty though and creamy! - 6.5/10
Tried the Banana Bread and it was soft and yummy. Good idea to come here during dinner!
the double bacon smash burger is definitely worth the buck - super juicy patty with a slightly spicy sauce. if you are visiting, definitely order this!
I had a pleasant dinner with my partner at Seng House, a cozy and quaint cafe in the Katong area. Their duck confit was tender and flavorful, the ribeye was perfectly juicy and full of flavor. However, the mac and cheese was the star of the evening with the crispy cheese topping providing a satisfying contrast against the creamy and thick sauce. To end the meal, we indulged in the chocolate matcha lava cake, a decadent treat with a warm, gooey center. The food took slightly longer than expected to arrive, but overall, a great dining experience with delicious food and a lovely ambience.
I recently visited Seng House, and it was an enjoyable experience overall. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy interior that made for a comfortable dining experience.
The flat white was well-crafted, with a smooth, velvety texture and a nice balance between espresso and milk. The coffee had a rich aroma and a strong yet not overpowering flavor, making it a great pick-me-up.
The beef burger was flavorful, with a well-seasoned patty and fresh toppings. The bun was soft yet held together well. The fries on the side were crispy and well-seasoned, making for a satisfying combination.
This dish was the highlight for me. The black version of the fried carrot cake had a good balance of sweetness from the dark soy sauce and a slight smokiness from the wok. The texture was perfect—crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. It had just the right amount of egg and was generously portioned.
The service was efficient, with friendly staff who were attentive but not intrusive. The café had a relaxed vibe, making it a nice spot for both casual meals and work sessions.
A great café with well-prepared food and quality coffee. I’d definitely return for the black fried carrot cake and another cup of flat white!
I ordered the Hainanese Pork Chop and it was really good, especially the fries. Recommended place for dinner!
The food is not creative but well-executed. The atmosphere is relaxed, Tiong Bahru style. Service is polite, but completely not pro -active; you have to ask for everything, and only comes in tiny quantities, requiring you to ask again. It’s overpriced, so definitely not worth it.
