I once hailed Folks Collective as one of the best Thai food in Singapore. They still are!
I once hailed Folks Collective as one of the best Thai food in Singapore. They still are! This pork was addictive.
I once hailed Folks Collective as one of the best Thai food in Singapore. They still are! Although this dish wasn't as good as imagined and kinda gimmicky, it's still refined. The prawns tasted assam.

Perfect unwind after lunch!
The Goji Berry Honey and Black Coffee from the cafe are soothing.
Come relax…
Johorkaki also recommended Ji Xian's steamed white eel in black bean sauce.
The steamed white eel is tender and juicy with a nice bite to it. I love the gelatinous layer of fat between the flesh and the skin. The natural sweetness of the eel pairs well with the savoury notes of the black bean soy sauce though it might have worked better if the saltiness of the sauce is tempered a little.
This dish is addictive over rice and on its own!
I did a little more research this time round and decided to try this interesting dish recommended by Johorkaki on his blog.
This is essentially a stir-fry dish comprising of Chinese Leek, taro strips, dried shrimp, siu yok and jelly fish. The end result is a delicious dish full of savoury umami and wok hei flavours.
If there is one dish you have to order, this is it. Yes, over the bamboo clams!
Kinda simplistic compared to other dishes we've had here.
We are big fans of Ji Xian's juicy and tender steamed bamboo clams and were disappointed to learn that they were out of season. The folks at Ji Xian therefore suggested that we check out their mini bamboo clams prepared the same way.
Unfortunately, everyone felt that the mini version fell short of our expectations. They were noticeably smaller and tougher with a 'stringy' texture.
Not a fan of the ingredient itself tbh.
Broth is flavorful with light taste of herbs, mildly sweet & spicy, not too gamey; came with small amount of pickled veggies to balance out the taste; 3 slices of thick cut beef brisket which is tender & soft; opted for knife-shaved noodles which came firm & chewy..
Broth is light-tasting but lack of depth & seafood taste; came with generous portion of crunchy squid tentacles & baby clams; was expecting some fresh clams to add some natural sweetness to the broth; opted for the firm & chewy knife-shaved noodles..
I went black this time to see the difference. Still better than a regular wanton mee. But it doesn't blow me away. The ample spring onion definitely altered the overall experience.
Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee offers a delightful bowl of prawn noodles.
The soup is notably flavourful, making it a must-try!
Chosen beehoon, succulent prawn.
This is $8 portion.
