Had a wonderful evening with delicious food and unique cocktail! Ordered the steak which was tender and paired well with the crunchy brussels sprouts. The cocktail was presented nicely and the bartender was very passionate in explaining each element in the drink. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for good food and drinks!
Hopscotch always has the best and most innovative cocktails out of all the bars I’ve visited. Love how theatrical they look as well. The mains were delicious as well, and special shoutout to the interesting cereal prawn burger!
Their inventive cocktails deliver a refreshing twist on classics, each one unique and artfully crafted. The food complements the drinks perfectly, especially the Sweet & Sour Sticky Pork Ribs. Soft, tender and cooked to perfection and packed with flavour. Great vibes, great service—perfect for a night out!
($6.80) come with cookie and drink of your choice. It's under latest new flavour for everyday value meal. I felt that it was quite savoury and slightly spicy aftertaste tbh for chicken chorizo slices. I chose new scallion bread; lettuce, cucumbers, sliced olives for vegetables; honey mustard sauce.
Came by just for porridge but their menu looked so extensive and interesting, we couldn't help but add on another dish. The Pumpkin Congee with Prawn Balls ($13.80) was a surprise hit, with the mild sweetness of the congee contrasting nicely with the bouncy prawn balls. This was a nice twist to the usual plain congee. We added on a plate of the Steamed Mushroom and Chicken Rice ($7.80) which was superbly delicious, from the juicy mushrooms to the well-marinated tender chicken pieces. The umami sweet-savoury sauce was also delicious, but a tad too much with the rice at the bottom soaking everything up. Overall, a standout dimsum restaurant at decent prices, that could rival the usual popular joints. Would return to try their unique 'Modern Dim Sum'!
The rivalry over who has the best nasi lemak never seems to end, and honestly, I’m not complaining. As brands strive to outdo each other, we, the consumers, get to enjoy consistently good food.
When it comes to the Chinese-style nasi lemak, this might be controversial, but Ponggol Nasi Lemak is easily one of my favourites. Their perfectly fried anchovies and peanuts may seem like just a side, but when done well, they complete the nasi lemak experience.
Did you know they have an outlet right in the heart of the city at Capitol Piazza? Now you know where you can satisfy your cravings when in City Hall!
Tucked away in Funan Mall, Mingle Bistro is a cozy spot serving up creative Italian-Asian fusion dishes.
For starters, the Sea Salt & Szechuan Spice Crispy Squid packs a punch with its bold, fiery seasoning, while the signature Currywurst Fries—inspired by the iconic Berlin street snack—features skin-on fries coated in homemade curry spice, topped with spicy pork chorizo, and drizzled with yogurt and curry ketchup. This one definitely brings the heat!
Among their interesting mains, the White Wine & Chicken Collagen Broth Pasta stood out with its essence of danggui, making it both flavorful and nourishing. Lately, I’ve been craving dishes with that perfect sweet-spicy balance, so the Nduja & Hot Honey Pizza was a no-brainer. Mingle’s hot stone pizzas are aged for over 24 hours and freshly made to order, resulting in a light, airy dough that pairs beautifully with the spicy nduja and hot honey drizzle.
If you’re looking for something unique yet comforting, Mingle Bistro is worth a visit!
Came by on a Wednesday for their Roll promo. Had the Fire Maki ($9.45) and the Under The Sea ($9.95). Portion was great, sushi leaned towards the saucy side but enjoyable nonetheless, and definitely value for money. Their $3 sake deal also hit the spot, albeit the portion was so small i could practically finish it in a gulp. Added on a Zaru Soba ($13) which was nice, although a tad bit too expensive if you ask me. Overall, a good place to hit up if you're craving sushi and you like the items on their daily promo menu.
My partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Hopscotch (Capitol), and it was a truly enjoyable experience. We started our meal with fresh oysters, followed by the rich and flavorful beef bourguignon and the tantalizing chilli lobster mafaldine pasta. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor.
To complement our meal, we ordered two of their signature cocktails: the "Curtain Call" and the "Wish Upon a Lantern." Both were not only delicious but also incredibly interesting and interactive, adding a fun and unique element to our dining experience.
Overall, our visit to Hopscotch (Capitol) was fantastic. The combination of delicious food, creative cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere makes it a must-try for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. We highly recommend it!
Lastly, for dessert, The Waffle Ice Cream ($20) was okay in my opinion because I don’t really care for their salted milk ice cream (and I was expecting a little more). However, I love the nutty hazelnut crumble, the apple compote also added that fruity sweetness and I basically inhaled the crisp hazelnut waffle.
What saved the night was the Iberico Pork Chop ($48)! Think bone in grilled Iberico rib chop paired with yummy rich vin jaune sauce, luscious artichoke purée, green peas (ugh no), and crunchy aromatic hazelnuts. I could seriously just pick up the plate and lick up all the sauce. Grilled nicely, the pork was sufficiently tender and succulent on most parts but some bites were certainly more firm.
