Overpriced for a common dish. This is the more atas fish, and it's plump and firm, but I don't think justified the prices. Oddly, the soup was different across the bowls. The main one was reasonably good, but the one with the noodles only tasted of the noodles.

For all the (much warranted) fuss about their noodles, Noodle Star K's gogi mandu (or meat dumplings) is one of their more surprising items.

The dumpling skin is on the thicker side but smooth and holds up well. It is stuffed full of juicy pork filling with the distinctive garlicky flavour of chives.

I really enjoyed it as an appetiser or with the noodles!

Price increase $3 from the previous time we went. Both dishes exceeded my expectation. Will be back for the 2 dishes.

Two of Tony Cafe’s most popular items are the delicious deep-fried chicken wing rice and honey wings. The fried chicken wings batter is thin and crispy outside, and juicy inside. It is even better when paired with chicken rice and chilli. The other item on the menu worth mentioning is their savoury honey wings which I was lucky to get my hands on both on the day of my visit. The rest of their cai png dishes were decent as add-ons to a complete meal. There are limited seats, so prepare to wait for a seat during peak hours. Note that fried chicken wings are only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The steak is season perfectly. Not too salty, not too bland. It pairs well with the side dishes. The two component that stands to me is the brussel sprout where it is baked perfectly to leave a nice char and crisp on its other layer and the mash potato where it is mixed with roasted black garlic to give a unique taste.

If deulkkae kalguksu is the perfect dish for cold and wet days, naengmyeon is the perfect counterpart for warm and sweltering hot days (or pretty much everyday).

Noodle Star K is apparently the first in town to serve handmade naengmyeon with dangmyeon (potato starch noodles) or chikguksu (arrowroot noodles). We prefer the later for its chewy bite and springy bouncy texture.

The noodles are served in a clear refreshing broth made of beef and radish kimchi. It is sweet, tangy and zesty. I personally recommend adding a strong dash of vinegar and mustard (and sesame oil!) to give it an extra flavour boost.

The dish is then topped with julienned pear, radish kimchi, cucumber, hard boiled egg and slices of beef. It is traditional to have these toppings but I never fancied the hard boil egg and beef which don't seem to add much to the dish.

The perfect way to enjoy this dish is simply to slurp the noodles and gulp down the cold broth especially in the dog days of summer!

My daughter decided to celebrate an early Father's Day with me, and she took me to Hopscotch at Capitol Arcade, a charming restaurant offering a variety of Western dishes.

To mark this special occasion, we decided to try some of their signature cocktails. I opted for the ā€œA Decade in Time,ā€ which was served in an elegant hourglass glass, beautifully paired with an infinity mirror display showcasing light paintings of memorable moments. My daughter chose the ā€œWish Upon a Lantern,ā€ inspired by the traditional Chinese sky lantern. The cocktail came with a paper lantern for us to write our wishes on before the staff set it on fire in front of us, revealing the drink inside. It was an incredibly unique and memorable presentation that added a special touch to our celebration.

We also ordered a selection of appetizers, including mushroom and lobster bisque soup, which was rich and flavorful, accompanied by crab cakes served with fried mautou and a spicy chili crab sauce. The sambal grilled octopus confit was another highlight, bursting with flavor.

For the main course, my daughter had the duck confit with foie gras, which was expertly prepared, the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. I went for the signature black garlic ribeye steak which was served with bone marrow butter. The steak was juicy and tender and I savored every bite.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the staff were exceptional attentive and thoughtful, making us feel pampered from the moment we walked in until the end of our meal.

Hopscotch is a fantastic spot to create lasting memories with its unique cocktails and great food. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a special dining occasion.

I brought my dad to Hopscotch @ Capitol for a little father-daughter dinner date after church, and it turned out to be such a delightful experience.

We started with the Chilli Crab Cakes and Sambal Grilled Octopus—both perfect starters to whet the appetite. The crab cakes were packed with generous chunks of crab meat, and the rich, slightly spicy chilli crab sauce that came with it really hit the spot. The octopus was beautifully grilled, tender, and had a lovely smoky char, balanced out by a touch of spice and creamy sauce.

For mains, I went with the Duck Confit with Foie Gras, which was easily the star of the evening for me. The skin was incredibly crispy while the duck meat stayed tender and moist. The tangy-sweet mandarin orange salsa on the side added a refreshing twist that cut through the richness perfectly. My dad had the Ribeye Steak, and he couldn’t stop raving about how soft and juicy it was!

We also treated ourselves to two cocktails (A decade in time, and Wish upon a lantern), and I have to say, Hopscotch really brings the theatrics when it comes to drinks. Both cocktails came with flair and were packed with local fruity flavours like mangosteen and soursop—super refreshing and a fun way to round out the meal.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. From bold flavours to beautifully executed dishes and drinks, Hopscotch really delivers on its promise of celebrating Singaporean identity through food and cocktails. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a satisfying meal with a local twist and great vibes!

Great night out at hopscotch with their anniversary cocktail and steak, steak was juicy and tender. Cocktail was amazing as well!

Really enjoyed my time here! I got the barramundi fish and chips - fresh fish with crispy batter, well-balanced and really satisfying… Also tried the A Decade in Time cocktail - served in an hourglass glass with a QR code which you can scan to explore Hopscotch’s history… Overall a great spot if you are into creative food and drinks with a local twist!!!

Hopscotch is such a chill place to hangout at with anyone from co-workers to best friends to partners! I visited after work with my partner and we had such a great time - the staff were really sweet and knowledgeable, and both the food and drinks menu were one of a kind!

I ordered the Barramundi Fish & Chips while my partner ordered the Black Garlic Ribeye Steak. The fish was very crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, while the chips were fried to perfection and wasn’t too salty! The steak was probably the best i’ve ever had in my life! It was so soft and easy to eat. The bone marrow butter paired the steak so well.

We were mindblown at the drinks selection. The creativity behind all the drinks has to be the star of the show! Both my partner and I got edible cocktails! I enjoyed Bubble Bean, which was Hopscotch’s take on Singapore’s local dessert ā€œMichael Jacksonā€, and the presentation and taste was next level. My partner had a Heartland Signature and it came with a waffle on top! 😱

Definitely a new spot in town where I can have dinner or drinks with friends and family! Will definitely be back for more!
